This week at the Trailer Park we have a whale, chipmunks, and some ghosts in shells for your viewing pleasure.
In the Heart of the Sea
Everyone knows the legendary tale of the killer sperm whale Mody Dick and the havoc it brought upon a boat of unfortunate whalers. In the Heart of the Sea is the story that inspired the legend. Based off the book of the same name, In the Heart of the Sea follows the story of the whaling boat the Essex and its crew, mainly Captain George Pollard, Jr., first officer Owen Chase, second officer Matthew Joy, and cabin boy Thomas Nickerson. During their voyage, the ship is destroyed by an enraged sperm whale and the crew are then stranded at sea and must resort to cannibalism to survive.
In the Heart of the Sea stars Chris Hemsworth, Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, and Tom Holland and sails into theaters December 11th.
Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Road Chip
The fourth installment in the franchise following the three furry brothers, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore must try and prevent Dave from proposing to his new girlfriend, Samantha, because they think that if he does he will leave them behind. The Chipmunks must put their differences aside with Samantha’s son Miles and join forces to try and prevent the wedding from happening. The group takes off on a three day, antic filled trip to Miami to try and stop the proposal.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip stars Jason Lee, Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler, Jesse McCartney, Christina Applegate, Anna Faris, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, and Bella Thorne and hits theaters December 18th.
Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie
The hit 1995 movie series is back again, this time with better animation and flashier visuals. Although The New Movie is not a true sequel to Ghost in the Shell, it does follow the Ghost in the Shell: Arise TV show and film. Picking up after the events of Arise, a bomb goes off in Newport City and kills a major arms dealer who may have ties with the 501 Organization. Its up to full-body cyber prosthesis user and hacker extraordinaire, Motoko Kusanagi, to find the true nature of the attack.
Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie stars Maaya Sakamoto, Ikkyuu Juku, Kenichirou Matsuda, Tarusuke Shingaki, and Shunsuke Sakuya and will be released in select theaters on November 10th, 11th, and 16th.
