Another Star Wars dominated week with The Hateful Eight coming into its own.

[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he box office is still in a frenzy over The Force Awakens and it has been the highest grossing movie every week for its entire time in theaters.

But honestly what did we expect?

Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrel comedy Daddy’s Home had another good week in the box office coming in at #2 for the second week in a row. Joy, starring Jennifer Lawrence, also had a good second week coming in at #6.

Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight continued to do well in its limited 70mm release. The film was released in theaters everywhere on New Years Eve so it will be interesting to see how the film does in its first full week of not being in select theaters.

This week we see the release of horror film The Forest and the long awaited drama-thriller The Revenant starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The film has been nominated for four Golden Globe awards, including best picture and best actor. Due to the highly positive reviews on the film, many are anxious to see it so it should have a good opening week.
