The Super Mario Bros. Movie just got its first official trailer and it looks really freaking awesome. Between an impressive star-studded cast and a remarkably vibrant animation style, we have a hunch that this movie is going to be fantastic.
Take a look at the trailer here:
If you are not convinced that this film looks fun and, at the very least, incredibly gorgeous from an animation standpoint, there might be something wrong with you. But looks aren’t everything, which is why The Super Mario Bros. Movie has an ensemble cast with Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, and Jack Black as Bowser. And even still, this teaser has shown us the direction the film wants to take with its humor and we are completely on board.
Is it just us, or is Mario’s voice just literally Chris Pratt?
Directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (collaborators on Teen Titans Go!, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies) from a screenplay by Matthew Fogel (The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, Illuminations’s Minions: The Rise of Gru), the film stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie comes to theaters on April 7th, 2023.
