Who’s ready for Grunge-loving X-Men!

[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]n a recent interview, X-Men executive producer Simon Kinberg said that “the next one is set in the 90’s.”

Kingberg did not say if “the next one” would be a continuation of the current X-Men series or if it would be the upcoming New Mutants movie but it would follow the pattern of the current X-Men series. As we remember, First Class was set in the 60’s, Days of Future Past was in the 70’s, and Apocalypse is set in the 80’s, so the trend is to continue with whatever the next installment is (X-Force?!).

The beloved cartoon series X-Men: The Animated Series was in circulation during the 90’s along with the iconic artwork of Jim Lee, which could see some cues pulled from it and included in the film, but there is no further news at this time to confirm or deny such things. As always, time will tell and we will just have to wait and see.
