If you thought Insomniac Games was just kicking back after releasing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, sipping lattes and letting Peter Parker swing off into the sunset—think again. The studio behind Spider-Man, Ratchet & Clank, and that criminally underrated chaos-fest known as Sunset Overdrive is currently cooking up no less than (but likely more than) three major games. And that’s just what we know about. There are also whispers of two more, because Insomniac apparently treats “downtime” the same way Wolverine treats a peaceful afternoon nap: with claws.
Here’s What’s Officially On Their Giant Nerd Buffet Table:
-
Venom game – That’s right, the oily murder-goo himself is getting his own spotlight in a solo title. After being a centerpiece of Spider-Man 2, Venom is allegedly slithering into the starring role sometime in 2026. We don’t know if you’ll play as Harry Osborn, Eddie Brock, or just an angry tar monster with a hunger for brains—but whatever the case, more Venom is rarely a bad thing unless you’re a streetlamp or a police car.
-
Wolverine – This one’s set in the same universe as the Spider-Man and Venom games, meaning we’re potentially heading toward a Marvel Gaming Universe that’s less janky than the actual cinematic one. Wolverine looks brutal, bloody, and filled with the kind of violence that would make Deadpool say “whoa, tone it down.” The early footage leaked in December 2023 during a catastrophic ransomware attack confirmed as much—and yes, it was absolutely real, and yes, you can probably still find it online if you’re willing to dig through Reddit like a digital raccoon.
-
Spider-Man 3 – You knew this was coming. After web-slinging through two full games and a Miles Morales-sized expansion, Peter and Miles are gearing up for round three. Allegedly launching in 2029 on whatever number PlayStation is on by then (PlayStation Hexagon?), Spider-Man 3 will be swinging into your console with more villains, more suits, and probably 15 new collectible backpack quests because tradition matters.

But Wait… There’s Probably More
According to insider chatter—which is either legit or just one guy with a Spider-Man Funko collection and a dream—two more games are allegedly in early development:
-
A new Ratchet & Clank game, which feels like a no-brainer since those two haven’t dimension-hopped in a while and Sony probably wants a PS6 launch title that isn’t just a controller demo.
-
An X-Men game, which is reportedly ambitious enough to be its own trilogy. That’s right: three full games of mutant drama, optic blasts, snarky Wolverine quips, and Cyclops being a total square.
If these rumors are true, Insomniac isn’t just building a Marvel Gaming Universe—they’re forging the Adamantium skeleton of it, one ridiculously polished title at a time. Whether or not they’ll all connect like the MCU is still unknown (but we think they will), but one thing’s for sure: no one’s working harder than Insomniac right now—except maybe the poor PR person who had to respond to every leak from that December hack with, “Yes, that’s real. Please stop uploading it to YouTube.”
So get ready: by 2029, your PlayStation is going to be wall-to-wall mutants, symbiotes, and spider-people. And honestly? We’re completely okay with that.
