Speaking to Famitsu (and translated by PushDustin), Smash Bros director Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed that Fighters Pass vol. 2 DLC, which is comprised of six additional fighters coming to Ultimate, is the final DLC the game will receive.

“The breakdown of the six has been decided and there is no plan to make more. In other words, when we put out these six fighters, the work of Smash Ultimate is finally finished.”

The final six fighters have yet to be revealed but Sakurai has stated that they will be available by December of next year and that Nintendo has already chosen each of the characters coming to Fighters Pass vol. 2. With this DLC’s additional fighters, the final roster of Ultimate will consist of 88 total playable fighters.

Masahiro Sakurai, who provides information regularly to Famitsu, also shared that there are no present plans for any additional Smash Bros sequels or titles, which suggests that Ultimate will be it for a while.

The second season of fighters will cost $30 USD and includes the six final playable characters along with a pre-order bonus in the form of a Breath of the Wild Ancient Soldier gear costume for your Mii Fighter.

Fighters Pass 2, is available now for pre-purchase.
