It’s JetSet Radio meets Dead Rising. It’s colorful and chaotic, it’s coming exclusively to the Xbox One and it looks awesome. Sunset City has been overrun by energy drink-consuming mutants and the factions of survivors trying to deal with it. Can you survive?
Insomniac hit this year’s E3 hard with more information on their newest game, Sunset Overdrive. Ted Price, of Insomniac Games, gave us one of our first live gameplay demos at the Microsoft keynote this week, adding even more excitement to the already highly anticipated Xbox One exclusive.

They’ve taken a unique approach with nearly every aspect of this game: creating a robust game with friendly and non-friendly factions, different enemy types, weapons, powerups and character customizations. Even the respawing is unique, with its excessively over-the-top sequences.
You can take on these energy-drink driven mutants by yourself, or you can enter “Chaos Mode” and take them on with your friends. “Chaos Mode” pairs up eight people together and can be activated at any time by entering an in game photo booth. Details beyond that are a little fuzzy, but we’ll keep you updated as more details pour out.
Sunset Overdrive comes exclusively to Xbox One this October 28, 2014. It’s being developed by Insomniac Games and Published by Microsoft Studios.
