LEGO BB8 steals our hearts!
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]here have been rumours surrounding the possibility of getting a LEGO Force Awakens game for a while now, and with some leaks on the Xbox stores website, and screenshots finding their way onto Reddit, the rumours were going into overdrive.
Given that the rest of the Star Wars episodes have gotten the LEGO treatement, it’s not surprising that fans would begin to ignite the Force-Awakens-LEGO-fire.
Well, it’s officially a rumour no more! Warner Bros. delighted Star Wars and LEGO fans alike by unveiling this delightful announcement teaser trailer today:
It has fulfilled our hopes and dreams of seeing BB8 in Lego form. I mean c’mon, you’ve got to admit you wanted to see that!
The game will apparently be set between Return of the Jedi and Force Awakens, and will introduce new stories which will give us more insight into the main characters from Force Awakens.
Playable characters will include Finn, Rey, Poe Dameron, BB8, Han Solo, Chewie, C-3PO, Captain Phasma, Kylo Renn and General Hux, and will be set in places such as the Starkiller base and Jakku.
New gameplay mechanics are said to be introduced, which comes in the shape of a ‘multi-build’ system that will allow players to have a variety of building options to choose from.
Going from the trailer, we just know this will follow the rest of the LEGO franchise, with a great sense of humour, and faithful recreations of the Star Wars universe and its beloved characters.
TT Games announced that the game will be released on all gaming platforms this summer, with a 28 June, 2016 release date.
