Renowned comic creator details his upcoming role.
[dropcap size=small]S[/dropcap]tan “The Man” Lee is a living legend. He has co-created some of the most iconic superheroes of all-time, and has made hilarious cameos in most movies based off his characters. While he has only appeared in a couple X-Men films, Lee has recently confirmed he will show up in X-Men: Apocalypse, and he’s excited.
Last weekend at San-Diego Comic-Con, during the 20th Century Fox Marvel panel, a fan asked Lee what his favorite Marvel movie cameo has been. Lee explained that he loves all of his cameos, but in particular, he was excited “for the next X-Men movie.” This prompted the panel moderator to whisper something in Lee’s ear, probably indicating he wasn’t supposed to spill the beans yet, and then Lee saying, “When you say I’m not allowed—will I be arrested?” This back-and-forth, of course, got the crowd going, and prompted Lee to share a little more on his cameo:
“When you go see the next X-Men movie when it comes out, and see my fantastic cameo, you will say, ‘I remember he told me about it here.’ It’s a different cameo in that it has one additional thing in it.”
Despite clearly being excited, Lee remained pretty cryptic as to what he’ll be doing in his cameo. From what he provided the panel, it seems as if this will be a more complex cameo than we’re used to. Perhaps he’s in more than one scene? Maybe he’ll portray a member of the X-Men, or one of Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen!
Regardless, his cameo is sure to be fun and unexpected, as they have been in the past. Perhaps the Apocalypse cameo will rival one of his greatest appearances, from The Amazing Spider-Man.
