Marvel president Kevin Feige insists that Spider-Man was always a part of their Phase 3 plan.
[dropcap size=small]B[/dropcap]ack in February, Sony and Marvel inked a deal that would bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Phase 3 plan originally unveiled by Marvel in October did not include for this addition, however the movie line-up has not changed drastically since the addition of Spidey.
Kevin Feige claims that Marvel had anticipated the web-slinger so they created a contingency plan for the Phase 3 roll-out in the event that it became real.
The dates associated with this image aren’t correct since the Spider-Man add, but it gives you an idea of what to expect from Marvel through 2019. Spider-Man will be getting his own movie on July 28, 2017 which will ultimately move Thor: Ragnarok to 11/3/17, Black Panther to 7/6/18, Captain Marvel to 11/2/18, and Inhumans to 7/12/19.
Moral of the story; we fans have A LOT to look forward to these next few years. Oh and in case you didn’t put two and two together, the deal between Sony and Marvel basically guarantees that Spider-Man will be part of the Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2. And boom goes the dynamite.
