[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]hen can we expect to see footage from the Fantastic Four reboot? Well, Simon Kinberg spoke about it in an interview related to the X-Men: Days of Future Past Blu-ray/DVD.
“I don’t, actually,” Kinberg says. “We’re putting it together now, and one of the important things, because this Fantastic Four is a reboot, and is such a different tonality and vibe from those other films, we want to make sure that the first thing we put out really expresses the voice of the movie, and isn’t compromised by not having visual effects ready, or anything like that. I don’t actually know when it’s coming out, but I’ve seen all the footage from the movie. I was there for pretty much the whole shoot. It is a very different film from the others, and one that I think is very different from other superhero movies. It’s a very emotional, character-driven, more grounded film than I think people are anticipating.”
There’s a lot of speculation surrounding the reboot, and with only 10 months until the movie’s release, we should expect a teaser trailer soon-ish. The original Fantastic Four (2005) was very meh, to be polite. Marvel’s current series reboots tend to be more earnest, and I’m excited to see how the Fantastic Four reboot is going to turn out.
Fantastic Four/Avengers crossover? Please? Thanks. I’m sure most of us can agree that we just want to see The Hulk and The Thing on screen together.
The Fantastic Four, starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Toby Kebbell and Jamie Bell, is directed by Josh Trank, written by Simon Kinberg. The movie hits theaters on August 7th, 2015.
Everything about this movie just sounds… not good.
