Rockstar has released the second official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, and it’s safe to say our hype levels are somewhere between “mild heart palpitations” and “full-on heatstroke in Leonida.” This new look gives us more time with the game’s leading duo, Jason and Lucia, who are introduced in the most Rockstar way possible: with a pickup outside the state penitentiary and a vow to “do things right” this time. Of course, in the world of GTA, that means less therapy and more armed robbery.
The trailer paints a clearer picture of their dynamic — a pair of ride-or-die outlaws with a dream of conquering Vice City, all while trying not to land back behind bars (or worse). But things go sideways — fast. Take a look:
According to the trailer’s official description, “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”
What follows is a relentless barrage of mayhem: neon-lit streets, tense face-offs, colorful lowlifes, and all the glorious sandbox chaos we’ve come to expect. It’s like Bad Boys meets Natural Born Killers, with a little Florida Man energy sprinkled on top.
The only downside? We’ve got a long wait ahead. GTA VI doesn’t launch until May 26, 2026, and to make matters worse, it’ll be a timed console exclusive at launch. That means PC players (and everyone with a Steam wishlist already locked and loaded) will have to sit tight — likely until late 2026 or early 2027 — before they can join the digital crime wave.
But if this trailer is anything to go by, the wait might actually be worth it. Until then, we’ll just be rewatching the trailer on loop and wondering how many times we can get away with saying “it’s not a crime if you’re doing it together.”
