The eighth and latest Resident Evil Village has been revealed. Capcom unveiled the latest entry in the Resident Evil series during a digital event where they confirmed the game will be coming to previous consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) and next-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as PC. The good news for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners is that if you purchase the digital version of the game you get a free upgrade for the PlayStation 5/Xbox One Series X|S as well!
Resident Evil Village will be available in multiple versions including standard, Digital Deluxe, Collector’s edition, and Resident Evil Village & Resident Evil 7 Complete Bundle. If you do preorder the game Capcom is offering bonuses too.
Compared to Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village is a welcomed return to the series’ notorious gothic, dark setting. The game takes place in a large village with a castle dominating the area. As for the story, much of it is a mystery. Ethan Winters returns and Chris Redfield does as well while a new antagonist in the form of an incredibly tall and large vampire-like woman seems to be in control of the village.
