The console war between next/current generation video gaming platforms belongs to Sony’s PlayStation 4.
The official Twitter account for PlayStation tweeted this week that it was the highest selling console in the United States for the sixth month in a row. According to sources, PlayStation 4 competitors Xbox One (Microsoft) and Wii U (Nintendo) are also reporting strong numbers, a clear indication that the next generation of home consoles has arrived into the North American mainstream.
In November 2012, the Wii U was released in North America, making it the first home console released for the eighth generation. The Xbox One and the Playstation 4 were released one year later on November 22nd and November 29th, 2013, respectively.
