It’s Morphin’ time!
[dropcap size=small]B[/dropcap]ack in 1993 a group of teenagers – who became super-powered warriors donning primary coloured suits, and fought against alien invaders – took the world by storm, and fast became one of the biggest hits of the 1990’s.
Dragonzord! Mastodon! Pterodactyl! Triceratops! Saber Tooth Tiger! Tyrannosaurus! Remember them all? Well, if you do, chances are you were a big Power Rangers fan, and if so, you’re in luck.
It has recently come to light that the Power Rangers are coming back to fight once more. The Directors Guild of Canada BC Production List revealed that the upcoming reboot – code-named ‘Shirt’ – is set to begin filming this coming January, with estimates that filming will wrap in April, 2016. These dates are subject to change, but it does cement the fact that we’ll be seeing those colourful suited-up teenagers on the big screen in future.
We’ve had no information in regards to cast members, but rumours suggest the reboot will be a re-telling of the original first series of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers from 1993. Dean Israelite is set to direct, with Lionsgate producing alongside Saban Entertainment.
Let’s hope it will have a killer theme song somewhere in the movie that’s like the original series intro.
Go go Power Rangers!
The film is slated to be released 13 January, 2017.
