Once again, the Pirates of the Caribbean pleased fans after the showing of Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales in theaters.  If the fifth installment has done so well, then why are the fans of Pirates of the Caribbean having a panic attack? The potential absence of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow is the answer.

Depp starred as Jack for over 14 years; therefore people are assuming that there will be a time when he will no longer take on the role as Caption Jack.  Jerry Bruckheimer, the new executive producer, made it clear that he wants to keep Depp as long as time allows. A sixth movie isn’t announced at the moment; but the producer did tickle our fancy by saying, “There’s always another story to tell.”  The following was an interesting analogy quoted by Jerry.  He also shared his confidence in Depp’s ability to perform at his current age.

Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow is a big deal as he towers over all of the other characters of the fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean in this picture.

“You have a kitchen in your house, right? But you still go out to eat.  If something drags you out of the house it’s usually good food. We have to make really, really good movies to make people stay away from their televisions. And that’s exactly what we do.  The secret to any successful franchise is picking talented people, and Johnny is absolutely key to the success of Pirates.  He’s such a unique character, such an endearing character, and such an irreverent character all in one.  He hasn’t changed at all! That’s what’s so great about him. He’s still the same guy he was in the first one.  He’s still out to get what’s good for him. Johnny himself hasn’t changed either. We’ve worked together on six movies now and he’s just an amazing individual.”

With that said, let us keep our eyes peeled on future developments cause there is a strong probability that we will see another movie with Depp putting his eye patch on yet again as Jack Sparrow based on the words of the new executive producer.
