One of the most exciting games this year will help kick off the summer for those who don’t find hot weather very appealing!
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]e all have seen the amount of shooter games that have come out in recent memory. Maybe I’m just thinking of the yearly Call of Duty games that come out, along with Battlefield. But there will be a whole different kind of shooter game: Overwatch!
Blizzard game director Jeff Kaplan announced that the Beta for the game would be available on May 24th on PS4. PS4 owners, along with a friend, will get early access to Beta gameplay if they pre-purchase the game on May 3rd and 4th. Everyone else will be able to play during the Open Beta on May 5th-9th.
If you don’t know what Overwatch is, it’s a muliplayer shooting games, which is team-based, in order to complete the objective at hand. The game features 21 unique characters to choose from numerous battlefields on Earth with powerful abilities and weapons at your disposal.
Players will be on six-man teams competing against each other in maps across the globe, such as Egypt, London, China, and more.
Kaplan said that the reason they are releasing the Beta so early is because they (Playstation) know how important it is to get a sense of what the full gameplay is like before you go out spending $60 on a game you may or may not like. The plan for the Beta is to have all 21 characters and all maps available to players. This will help get players familiar with all of the features that every characters have and the strategies needed to beat your opponents to submission.
