Looks like we are going to have to wait a little longer to get our first glimpse of Captain Marvel because she isn’t appearing in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron movie.
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]hen you watch a Marvel superhero movie, do you ever look for easter eggs in the film? No I’m not talking about the brightly colored eggs we dyed as kids, I’m talking about the little treats film makers insert into the flick to see if we are paying attention. Like a quick glance at an upcoming superhero maybe introducing themselves by their secret identity name maybe? Well that’s not going to be the case for Captain Marvel in the upcoming Age of Ultron. At a press day for the much-anticipated sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron, Kevin Feige sat down with MTV News to talk a little about the movie and Captain Marvel.
Captain Marvel was, “in an early draft of the script, yes” says Feige, but he explains why they decided not to keep her in. “It didn’t feel like the time,” Feige said. “We didn’t want to introduce her fully formed flying in a costume before you knew who she was or how she came to be.”
The superhero would have had a short key sequence towards the end of the film but was ultimately cut from the story. Captain Marvel will have a solo film that is set to release in November of 2018. With that much time till the movie hits theaters, film makers have plenty of time to cast the character and refine what the film adaptation of the heroine might look like.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will be in theaters May 1, and Captain Marvel should be out late 2018.
