More X-Men are on the way!
[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]nother X-Men project is on the way! Lauren Shuler Donner, the producer of the X-Men franchise, is teaming up with Matt Nix to create Gifted. Gifted will be about mutant teenagers who live with their “normie” parents. According to Entertainment Weekly, “Gifted” is the working title for the show and it could be renamed later.
Gifted is set to star Stephen Moyer (True Blood) and Amy Acker (Angel) as the “normie” parents who have to protect their kids from the government after they discover their powers. So far the only confirmed mutants are Polaris (played by Jamie Chung) and Blink (played by Emma Dumont). The rest of the mutants that will appear will most likely be created just for the show.
The Sentinels, the robot villains from X-Men: Days of Future Past, will also appear in the show. Donner said that “they’ll look different from what we’ve seen before” so it will be interesting to see what they will look like and how they will be different.
Bryan Singer (X-Men, X-Men 2) will direct the pilot for Gifted, which will begin filming later this month. Fox has already ordered it to series so it is only a matter of time until we see it.
There is no release date yet for Gifted.
