He already fought a Sith so why not?

[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap] recent Instagram post from user “tessalucy” appears to show actor John Boyega on the set of Pacific Rim: Uprising in a jaegar pilot uniform. You can view the post below to see Boyega is the uniform.

This uniform is very similar to the jaegar pilot uniforms from the first Pacific Rim. John Boyega is playing the son of deceased jaegar pilot Stacker Pentecost (played by Idris Elba in the first film) so it would make sense that his character would want to follow in the footsteps of his father and also become a jaegar pilot.

So far there are very few plot details so we can only guess at this point as to what the plot might be. What we do know is that the film will be taking place a few years after the first and the world is now Kaiju free.

Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil) will be directing the film while Guillermo del Toro, who directed the first film, will be producing the film. Acting alongside John Boyega in the film will be Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, and Jing Tian.

Pacific Rim: Uprising is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on February 23, 2018.
