More backstory for Nebula sounds like a good idea!
Nebular has grown from being a villain to being a guardian of the galaxy in the two Guardians of the Galaxy movies. According Karen Gillan, the actress who plays Nebula, we may be able to learn more about the character in the upcoming Marvel movies.
“Without giving away any spoilers we’re definitely going to continue the arc for Nebula and find out more about her past. And actually, we’re going to find out that it’s even worse than we know,” said Gillan at the Florida Super Con.
We had gotten more information about Nebula and her relationship to Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. We had learned that Gamora and herself used to fight for Thanos and that when Nebula would lose he would remove part of her and replace it with a machine. This was to make her a better fighter but it also turned Nebula into a part cyborg, which would have some lasting psychological effects.
This past has given Nebula a lot of rage targeted towards Thanos. Gillan said that in Infinity War “we’re going to see her confront all of it, it’s going to be like an emotional explosion.” Let’s just hope Infinity War won’t be too crowded so that we fully appreciate the story of Nebula.
Avengers: Infinity War is set to be released in theaters on May 4, 2018.
