After Mighty No. 9’s super Kickstarter success, we’re finally seeing a release date.
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he successor to our beloved Blue Bomber has gotten a release date. Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune launched a Kickstarter for his new side-scrolling might-as-well-be-a-modernized-Mega Man game and it received huge success.
Mighty No. 9 is set to release September 15th in North America and September 18th worldwide. As a fan of older Mega Man games, it’s nice to see Keiji returning to his side-scrolling roots. While Mighty No. 9 isn’t Mega Man, maybe he’ll become wildly popular.
Sorry, I got a little nostalgic for a second. The game will be available, both, as a physical copy or as a digital download. Deep Silver, publisher of the Dead Island series, has taken the reigns to help with publishing. Mighty No. 9 is seeing quite the release, as it’ll be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Linux and Mac.
Basically, if you own anything with a motherboard, you can purchase this game. Handheld versions of the game (PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS) are set to be released “at a later date.”

Give that soundtrack a listen. That, my friend, is what you call an eargasm.
