A retailer in Europe released a leaked photo showing a new Xbox One controller.
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]ith Microsoft’s 2015 E3 briefing just over two weeks away, a lot of people are expecting the company to announce news about upcoming games that are to be released on their console. What people were not expecting is to hear that Microsoft plans on releasing a different, but new, Xbox One controller.
The photo above was leaked by a retailer called Libro in Austria. The new controller for the Xbox One is supposed to have a pad that will sport a new 3.5mm headphone jack, but no other new features are known at this time. Apparently the new controller will be available June 8th, but this seems slightly unlikely due to the fact that Microsoft’s E3 briefing is on Monday June 15th, starting at 9:30 AM PDT. After the news of the leaked photo was known by Microsoft a representative from the company released a statement that said, “We’re gearing up for an exciting E3 where we’ll showcase more games and experiences. We have nothing further to share at this time.”
For some fans of the Xbox One this news is disappointing for them. Many fans were hoping for the ability to charge their Xbox One controllers via a USB cord that can be plugged in to the console itself. Unfortunately for these fans, it doesn’t seem likely that this feature will happen. Keep following Geek Outpost for more news on Microsoft’s E3 briefing!
