His character was killed off in Man of Steel so he really shouldn’t have a problem joining the X-Men universe.
[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]t seems that nearly everyone above the age of 50 has been eyed for the role of Cable in Deadpool 2 and this time Michael Shannon is the latest actor that Twentieth Century Fox is interested in. Best known for his role as General Zod in Man of Steel, the actor has been the focus of Twentieth Century Fox studios “for about a week”.
According to Variety, Michael Shannon is Twentieth Century Fox’s “top choice” for the role of Cable. The last person who was supposedly being eyed for the role of Cable was James Bond star, Pierce Brosnan. At this time Twentieth Century Fox is refusing to comment on the matter and until they release an official statement naming an actor you might as well believe that anyone could land the role of Cable at this point. Personally, I’m hoping for John Cleese or Meryl Streep.
Deadpool 2 will hit theaters next year in March.
