Matt Murdock’s mystery woman is set to appear in the next season of Marvel’s Daredevil!

[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]fter many rumor filled weeks surrounding who will be taking the role of Elektra, Marvel has cast Elodie Yung for the part! Elodie Yung starred in the films G.I. Joe: Retaliation and District 13: Ultimatum and she has over ten years of experience in karate, making her a fitting actress for the role considering Elektra Natchios is a Greek ninja/assassin.
Elektra is one of the most popular characters in the Daredevil comics, rivaling Matt Murdock himself. With that being said, many references were made to Elektra back in season one of Marvel’s Daredevil so it will be very exciting to finally see this character step into the spotlight.
Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb had this to say about the news:
“After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity. Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”
With Elodie Yung joining the show, this marks another important addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Elodie Yung will be joining Jon Bernthal, who will be playing the role of Frank Castle, in the upcoming season of Marvel’s Daredevil.
Marvel’s Daredevil will be released some time in the spring of 2016.
