Massive Leaks Reveal Game Freak’s Pokemon Plans through 2030

It’s like someone hacked into the Nintendo cafeteria and spilled all the secret recipes.

Over on Twitter (now X), we like to keep our fingers on the pulse on any gaming-related leaks or drama. And the guys running the @CentroLeaks accounts never fail to deliver. According to their intel, we have a whopping amount of leaks covering future DLC for Z-A (the base game officially releases in a couple days), all the way through 2030 and possibly further out still.

There is a lot, so let’s break this down little by little.

First off: yes, an early, playable build of Pokémon Z-A reportedly exists among the leaked files. And in that are all sorts of spoilers, visuals, upcoming unannounced Mega Evolutions, and an expanded PokeDex. That in itself is already eyebrow-raising, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg. The real shocker is how sprawling these leaks are: they hint that Game Freak has been quietly building an entire roadmap for the franchise’s future through 2030 and possibly later. Though, in and of itself that isn’t the surprising part- its the fact that these leaks may include an actual planned Pokémon MMO.

Project “Seed”: The MMO We’ve Always Imagined

One leak claims Game Freak is working on a full-blown Pokémon MMO, codenamed “Seed.” This isn’t some side project or spin-off; it allegedly includes all the Japanese regions (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, even Kitami). The vision? A sprawling, connected world where players can travel across regions in a persistent online space.

If that’s real, it’s the kind of ambition Pokémon fans have daydreamed about for years—finally, a world where your Charizard can fly from Hoenn to Sinnoh in real time, bumping into other players mid-route. The leaks also suggest that parts of another leak, Wind / Wave (the rumored Gen 10 titles) could include MMO-style elements, perhaps as a bridge or teaser for Seed.

Mega Evolutions: All the Cool Ones (Except Flygon)

Yes, the leaks also include a list of upcoming Mega Evolutions, which is simultaneously thrilling and cruel. Among the new additions are the already known Raichu X and Raichu Y, but also the likes of Pyroar and Skarmory, and even Darkrai along with many others across familiar Pokémon families. But, heartbreakingly, no Flygon—a fan favorite—was listed.

It’s the kind of omission that will fuel dozens of fan theories, especially since there was a leak some time ago that included alleged official Mega Flygon concept art. However, that may be hard to find these days what with all the fan designs flooding Reddit. Plus, any remains of the actual alleged official concept art was likely to have been scrubbed by Nintendo’s legal teams- as we expect many of these leaks to be in the coming weeks as well.

Generation 10: Wind and Wave (aka “Gaia”)

Here’s where things get even more wild. The leaks refer to Generation 10 by the internal labels “Wind” and “Wave”—direct translations from Japanese working documents. These names may not survive to final naming, but they fit the leaks’ theme of “infinity” surprisingly well. Just look at the logos and see what we mean:

The concept art leaked alongside them is jaw-dropping. If even half of it makes the cut, the visual leap from Scarlet & Violet would be dramatic—some leaks even suggest it could rival or surpass the aesthetic polish of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Leaks also hint that Wind and Wave will include MMO elements within their structure—quasi-online features, shared hubs, persistent elements—before the full MMO (Seed) kicks in.

According to a summarized version of the leaks:

  • Release is aimed for early winter 2026.
  • Regions may be procedurally generated archipelagos, with underwater exploration, registering islands to servers, and more open traversal of the world.
  • A “seed Pokémon” might serve as your starter, evolving in different ways depending on how you interact with islands and elements like “wind” or “waves.”
  • 18 gyms (one per type) might be present, and there may be branching endings depending on how much of the game you complete.

This is all theoretical (and still leaks), but the sheer scope is staggering.

Redesigns: Pikachu, Charizard & More?

The leaks also include planned redesigns for several classic Pokémon. The star of the show (or experiment) here is Pikachu, which apparently will adopt a more “shapely” look closely mirroring its recent card and marketing art incarnations (especially the “Special Delivery Pikachu” promo) — meaning we may finally see that card-style Pikachu in the actual games.

Special Delivery Pikachu #SWSH074

Charizard, on the other hand, has a controversial redesign: the leaks make it look less like the versions we know, and more like something straight out of a copyright lawsuit vs. Palworld. The new look leans toward fiercer, more imposing proportions.

And Machamp? Expect tweaks there too. The leaks suggest Game Freak is going in hard on visual overhauls for beloved staples.

Unova (Black & White) Remakes: Not So Fast

One leak memo apparently states that Game Freak is not currently working on a remake of Black & White (Unova). However, it says they intend to revisit Unova “some day,” with greater care for future remakes. A translated memo quoted by Twitter user @Rasenburst says:

“Remakes made for Black and White onwards should have a lot more love and care put into them. I hope that they become good games that will allow people to enjoy eras different from the Legends series.”

So yes, a Black & White remake may happen down the line—but don’t expect it imminently.

Internal Drama: Power Struggles & “Absolute Dominance”

Here is where things get spicy. The leaks include internal memos that are downright dramatic:

  • Around the Black & White era, legendary Pokémon director/producer Junichi Masuda was reportedly banned from directing subsequent Pokémon games because he allegedly held “absolute dominance” over development, personnel, PR, and design. The memo claims the games had shifted toward PR concerns over fun, and that the organization was being run “out of control.”
  • During X & Y’s development, Masuda reportedly clashed with Pokémon artist Ken Sugimori in a heated argument, which supposedly factored into the decision to strip him of directing power.

  • His replacement, Shigeru Ohmori, was allegedly not much better: a later internal memo warns that Ohmori, as both Division 2 Chief and Director, risks centralizing authority so much that “the organization could run out of control.”
  • “Division 2” is mentioned as the internal group responsible for Pokémon games, distinct from (but related to) the broader company structure.

These aren’t just tossaway rumors—they’re framed in the leaks as real memos with real names and consequences for some of the biggest names in the history of the franchise.

The 2030 Roadmap: What’s Coming

If the leaks hold up, here’s the rough schedule (with caveats for cancellation, delay, or rewriting):

  1. Mega Dimension – a portfolio of new Mega Evolutions, including Raichu X, Raichu Y, and many others, slated for 2025/2026.
  2. Pokémon Wind / Wave (Gaia) – Generation 10, targeted for 2026.
  3. Legends 3 (“Ringo”) – a third Legends entry in Galar, expected 2027–2028.
  4. Project Seed (MMO) – possibly arriving 2028–2029 (or later).
  5. Generation 11 – set for 2030.

This is, again, a massive gamble—but if even a fraction is real, the stakes for Pokémon’s future have just gone way up.

Let’s be clear: these are leaks. None of this is confirmed by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, or Game Freak (at least not publicly). Leaks are often wrong, misunderstood, or partial. But:

  • The scale of this leak is reminiscent of past notorious drops (e.g. “Gigaleak” / “Teraleak”) involving Game Freak and Nintendo assets.
  • Some of the naming (Wind, Wave, Gaia) already echo existing speculation in the Pokémon community.
  • The leaks include internal documents, concept art, and detailed timelines, which suggests this isn’t a shallow rumor—but a deep dig into internal files.

If even half of these plans survive the drain of corporate development, we might finally see a Pokémon experience that feels like it’s built for the modern age—not just another incremental upgrade. A full MMO across multiple regions? A visually stunning open world? Reworked classics that respect their legacy? For countless fans, that’s the Pokémon dream.

Of course, we all know how these things go: leaks get shot down, features get cut, and hype gets tempered. But it’s thrilling, for once, to feel like Game Freak might be playing for something big.
