The official description for the show is as follows:
Danny Rand returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting his world around him with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.
Iron Fist will be played by Game of Throne’s Finn Jones. He will be joined by Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), David Wenhem as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, and Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum. Carrie Ann Moss, who starred as lawyer Jeri Hogarth in Jessica Jones, will make an appearance in the show at some point.
Iron Fist will be Netflix’s fourth original Marvel series after Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. These four shows will eventually combine their heroes to create The Defenders after they have all made their debut. No release date has been made for The Defenders.
Iron Fist will be available on Netflix sometime in 2017!
