Ryan Reynolds got his second chance at Deadpool from X-Men Origins: Wolverine! Who’s to say Schreiber’s Sabretooth can’t have a comeback story?
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he Oscars featured plenty of stars with upcoming films to be talked about. Henry Cavill didn’t offer much for Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League (which will begin shooting next month.) The Oscars finally showed Leonardo DiCaprio the spotlight as he finally won an Oscar (honestly, he waited too long!)
But with Wolverine 3 scheduled to be released in 2017, there have been talks of Sabretooth joining the cast. The last person to play Sabretooth was Liev Schreiber in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Although it was a disappointment, Schreiber was one of the bright spots in the movie. Schreiber confirmed that there have been talks of him returning to his notorious role in an interview with MTV News.
We talked about it. I don’t know. He’s mentioned it to me. The Old Man Logan story — that’s appealing. That’s something that I can do. Old, being the operative word.
With Ryan Reynolds having huge success reprising the role of Deadpool in his solo movie Deadpool, Schreiber could make that connection and possibly retake this role, if it is available. But his Twitter response to Hugh Jackman’s shout out doesn’t sound like he’s up to getting into top shape. There’s not much that we know about the plot for Wolverine 3. The only cast members that have been announced are Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Patrick Stewart as Professor X.
