After being an Epic Games exclusive for months, the Kingdom Hearts franchise will finally be making its highly anticipated debut on Steam. Beginning June 13, the complete Dark Seeker Saga, featuring the beloved characters Sora, Donald, and Goofy, will be available for purchase on Valve’s digital storefront.

The Kingdom Hearts series, which first launched in 2002 as a PlayStation 2 exclusive, uniquely combines the enchanting Disney universe with characters from the Final Fantasy series. The series includes three mainline entries (with a fourth in development) and numerous side games, such as Birth by Sleep which was originally only available on PlayStation Portable, but is and will be included in the HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix collection.

The only down side is that each title (1.5+2.5, 2.8, and 3) will be sold separately on Steam, with dedicated pages for each entry, with no price listed for any just yet.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix will feature six of the series’ earliest stories:

  • Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
  • Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD cutscene compilation)
  • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (HD cutscene compilation)

  • Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue: A collection leading up to Kingdom Hearts III, will include:
  • Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD: Full-HD Remaster
  • Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover (movie): HD Movie
  • Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage –: A short episode linking to KINGDOM HEARTS III.

Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC): Sora’s epic journey alongside Donald Duck and Goofy to thwart Organization XIII and reunite with friends Riku and Kairi. Includes the Re Mind DLC, an additional chapter where Sora travels to the Keyblade Graveyard to rescue Kairi.

The Kingdom Hearts series collections are currently available on the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch (released in 2022 as part of the franchise’s 20th anniversary).
