Jena Malone’s Cut Role in ‘Batman v Superman’ Revealed, May be a Let Down

If you guessed this then you’re probably in with Zack Snyder.

[dropcap size=small]M[/dropcap]any have been speculating for some time now just who Jena Malone portrayed in Batman V Superman, after news surfaced that her scene was cut from the final product. For a while, the original Batgirl, Barbara Gordon, was believed to be the most likely DC character Malone could be. Then director Zack Synder put that theory to rest by stating in an interview with EW that she was ‘definitely not Batgirl.’

So if not Batgirl, then who?

Well, it’s no wonder folks didn’t guess Malone’s role. It was recently revealed in leaked footage from the end credits of the Ultimate Edition DVD release of the film to be a very minor DC character – Jenet Klyburn.

Klyburn is a little known character who was the director of S.T.A.R Labs in Metropolis. The scientist made her first appearance in 1976, and had links to Superman in comics throughout the 70’s and 80’s, but her role continued to be a very minor one. Since Batman V Superman does briefly feature S.T.A.R labs it does seem credible, but it’s certainly not the most exciting inclusion.

Malone’s role was kept tightly under wraps, and with all the buzz surrounding her part this rather lacklustre reveal isn’t exactly what we were expecting. You can check out the Ultimate Edition trailer below:

Batman V Superman: Dawn Justice Ultimate Edition’s DVD is expected to release 19 July, 2016, and will be available via HD Digital download 28 June, 2016.
