Thor: Ragnarok is shaping up to be the best Thor film yet.
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he third installment in the Thor cinematic franchise starring Chris Hemsworth (The Truth About Lies, Rush, In the Heart of the Sea) now has the largest star-studded cast of any film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far. The film, which will include Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/the Hulk, is going to be chaotic, dark and all of this points towards the events that will take place in the film leaving a lasting impact in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Cate Blanchett (Carol, Cinderella), a two-time Oscar winner, will be stepping into the shoes of Hela, an enigmatic and dangerously powerful villain that Thor will be pitted against. Additionally, Jeff Goldblum (Jurrasic Park, Independence Day) will play the outlandish Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson (Creed, Selma) will join the cast as Valkyrie, and Karl Urban (Star Trek trilogy, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers) will take on the role as the ax-wielding menace Skurge.
As was mentioned before, Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as Bruce Banner/the Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok and will be joining the original cast members Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as the all-seeing and all-hearing guardian sentry of Asguard, and Sir Anthony Hopkins will return to his role as Loki and Thor’s father Odin.
“The continuation of the epic Thor franchise will be powerful and unique, and with the additions of Cate, Jeff, Tessa, Karl, and Mark to the cast we have the makings of his most dangerous and heroic adventure yet,” said Marvel CEO and producer Kevin Feige. “The sheer, raw talent each of these actors brings to the screen can’t be quantified. Having any one of them join the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an honor, and having all of them is incredible.”
Thor: Ragnarok will be directed by the Oscar-nominated film director Taika Waititi and the film will hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
