It’s about damn time.
[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]n what seems like an eternity, 20th Century Fox has finally declared a release date for Gambit. The film, which stalled after talks between the studio and Channing Tatum became heated over differences in ideas and his contract, has a set release date for February 14, 2019. With about a year and a half, until the film will be released, you can be certain that production on the film will likely begin soon.
The film will be directed by Gore Verbinski (A Cure for Wellness, The Lone Ranger) and will follow Gambit, whose actual name is Remy Lebleu, and will more than likely explain his origins and how he came to possess the ability to charge an object with explosive kinetic energy. Gambit is a fan favorite and he briefly appeared in the film X-Men: Origins back in 2009. That film did a fairly solid interpretation of the character and hopefully, this film will do the same so mark your calendars!
