The Fast and Furious star basically confirms he’ll be in the upcoming film.
If you’ve been keeping up with Agents of SHIELD, then you’ll know that the Inhumans are becoming an important component of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Even more so, Vin Diesel has been hinting for some time that he will be involved with the forthcoming Inhumans film, which will debut late into Phase 3 of the MCU.
In fact, in a recent interview with io9, he does all but explicitly confirm he will be portraying Black Bolt in the film.
Diesel, whose new film The Last Witch Hunter opens October 23, had this to say about the possibility of him appearing in another MCU film (Remember, HE IS GROOT).
“I can totally be something [else] with Marvel. I think playing [Groot] only makes Marvel that much more excited and me having my experience with Marvel, seeing how great they were, makes me more excited. We’ve heard a lot of talk about Marvel wanting to have me play a character that doesn’t have my voice. So my voice is used for Groot and my presence is used for the other character.”
Hmm…A character in an upcoming film who doesn’t speak…Well, that sounds a lot like Black Bolt.
Black Bolt is the leader of the Inhumans, a group of superheroes who have been genetically mutated via Terrigen Mist. His signature power is his shockwave inducing voice, which is so powerful, that a single hypersonic scream could level a city. Because of this, Black Bolt has taken a vow of silence, and instead uses sign language or others to communicate for him.
Little is known about the Inhumans film. A director has yet to sign on for the film, and besides Diesel’s winks and nudges, no other cast members have been confirmed. Without spoiling too much, it’s a safe bet that a least a couple of cast members from Agents of SHIELD may appear in the film as well.
Inhumans is set to release on July 12, 2019.
