Well, maybe just Bruce Banner.
Captain America: Civil War will include almost every MCU Avenger and supporting character…except for Thor, and notably, the Hulk.
Late last year, fans speculated that the Jolly Green Giant might appear in the upcoming film. However, the Hulk himself, Mark Ruffalo, explained that his character will not appear in Civil War, even though he was included in earlier drafts of the script.
Well, either Ruffalo was lying, or Anthony Mackie is confused, as the actor behind the Falcon may have accidentally let in slip that the Hulk, or simply Bruce Banner, will indeed be in the movie.
During an interview on the UK station BBC Radio One, Mackie praised Civil War, believing it to be the best MCU film yet, but he also seemingly revealed that Ruffalo is returning for the film.
“Having seen the movie, it’s Marvel’s best movie thus far. And I’m being honest — if a Marvel movie sucks, a movie in the Marvel universe, I’ll tell you it sucked… ‘Winter Soldier’ and ‘Iron Man 1′ are probably Marvel’s two best movies. I feel like [’Civil War’] beats both of those movies. It’s really, really good. Because it’s more of an acting movie than an action movie, I feel like the story is very concise and interesting, and you get to see Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans and Scarlett Johannson and Mark Ruffalo and everybody just do really, really good acting. And then there’s action in it. The great thing about being in a Marvel movie? They have really good actors. I mean, Don Cheadle is in the Marvel Universe! I think it might be the first superhero movie that might be up for Best Picture.”
It’s very possible that Mackie just made a simple mistake as he rattled off the big stars of the MCU, but then again, he didn’t mention Chris Hemsworth, who for sure isn’t in the movie.
So could this be true? Will Hulk be in Civil War?
Even the film’s writers denied Hulk would be in the film, giving the obvious explanation that Hulk would give either Team Stark or Team Rogers the upper hand.
However, the writers never said Bruce Banner won’t be in the film, so its more than possible that Ruffalo may cameo in the film, just not Hulked out.
Since this interview, Mackie himself has clarified his comments through an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

During this interview, he explains that he was just giving respect to his fellow Marvel actors, and he went on to criticize news outlets for taking small bits of information, like this, and blowing them out of proportion through speculation.
We’re onto you, Mackie.
Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6.
