IT’S NOT TOO LATE! MAKE IT HAPPEN FOX!
Hugh Jackman has been pretty clear that Logan will be the last time he will play the iconic mutant Wolverine.
However, the actor recently revealed that if the stars aligned, he would still be interested in portraying the character; and those stars just happen to be the X-Men being in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In an interview between Jackman and a superfan (via ScreenRant) to promote Logan, the actor was asked if he would be up to fight alongside the Avengers as Wolverine, if possible.
Here’s Jackman’s response:
“If that was on the table when I made my decision, it certainly would have made me pause. That’s for sure. Because I always love the idea of him within that dynamic, with the Hulk obviously, with Iron Man but there’s a lot of smarter people with MBAs who can’t figure that out [laughter]. You never know.”
Jackman later explained that if we was able to be a part of the Avengers, then Logan probably wouldn’t be his last outing as Wolverine.
“At the moment, honestly, if I really did have them there, I probably wouldn’t have said this is the last. It just feels like this is the right time [to leave the character].”
Obviously, having Jackman’s Wolverine in the MCU would be awesome, and we want that so badly. However, maybe it is the right time for Jackman to leave the character. After 17 years of portraying Wolverine, Logan does indeed look like the proper send off for this amazing and long-enduring movie character.
Thanks for everything, Hugh.
Logan hits theaters on March 3.
