It’s official. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have announced that Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, releasing in 2024. Just moments ago, Ryan Reynolds himself announced the news along with Hugh Jackman via Reynolds’ Twitter, albeit in a typical humorous way.

Ryan mentions that they have been working on the next Deadpool film for quite some time and is sorry he missed D23. Ryan seems to be speaking from the heart before admitting that he has nothing to show for it. Then, Hugh Jackman can be seen walking in the background eating an apple and Reynolds asks if he wants to play Wolverine once more to which Jackman replies, “Yeah, sure, Ryan.” Deadpool’s logo is then seen before being slashed by Wolverine’s signature claws and closing with the release date of 9.6.24.
We have been wanting this more than anything in the MCU so far and finally, it is happening. While details of the movie’s plot are scarce, the tone of the announcement suggests a team-up or perhaps a rivalry of some kind but we just can’t be sure as the announcement was made only moments ago.
How much do you want to bet that this movie will make the top ten highest-grossing films of all time? Watch out, Spidey. Wolverine and Deadpool are coming for ya.
Ryan Reynolds has also provided the announcement on his YouTube channel.
