Logan himself teases the upcoming film in a new tweet.
[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]t’s hard to imagine a world without Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Jackman has been portraying the foul-mouthed, cigar-chewing, fan-favorite mutant for over 15 years now, and it seemed like he wasn’t slowing down, especially after his large role in X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, it appears that Jackman is telling the truth when he announced earlier this summer that the upcoming Wolverine movie will be his last.
Helmed by The Wolverine director James Mangold, the new Wolverine film won’t be released until 2017, but Jackman has taken the opportunity now to ask fans what they want to see in the upcoming movie.
Jackman recently tweeted out this photo teasing the film.

As you can see from the description, Jackman wants fans to briefly let him know what should happen in his last outing as Wolverine.
Certainly an interesting way to promote the film, considering the screenplay is probably well into development, but it shows that Jackman cares about what the fans want.
This tweet also puts into question the rumors that the upcoming film will draw inspiration from the “Old Man Logan” comic storyline, which featured an elderly Wolverine living in a future where supervillans have taken over the United States. The storyline features many Marvel characters that Fox (Wolverine’s Distributor) do not have the rights to use, so if anything, the film may borrow bits and pieces from the recent comic arc.
If the new Wolverine film really is Hugh Jackman’s last, hopefully it will be a fitting send-off for the actor who truly made the beloved mutant come to life on-screen.
The untitled Wolverine film will be released on March 3, 2017.
