HOUSTON, TX – May 14, 2025 — HIDIVE is officially turning up the heat this summer with the return of one of anime’s most stylish supernatural romances. The AMC Networks-owned streamer announced today that Call of the Night Season 2 will debut exclusively on HIDIVE as part of its Summer 2025 simulcast slate, with fans finally reuniting with night-dwelling couple Ko and Nazuna nearly three years after Season 1 wrapped in September 2022.
Adapted from Kotoyama’s award-winning manga, which concluded earlier this year with 200 chapters across 20 volumes, Call of the Night continues the nocturnal adventures of Ko, a teenage insomniac, and Nazuna, the free-spirited vampire who introduces him to the seductive thrills of the night. The upcoming season picks up as Ko begins to confront his feelings for Nazuna, who—despite her own cluelessness about love—remains determined to make him fall for her. But lurking in the shadows is vampire hunter Uguisu Anko, whose mission threatens not just Nazuna’s life, but the fragile world the pair have built together.

To celebrate the announcement, HIDIVE dropped the official English-subtitled trailer for Season 2 and confirmed a dedicated Call of the Night panel at Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles. The panel will take place Saturday, July 5, and feature a first-look screening of the opening half of Episode 2, followed by a post-screening Q&A session.
Season 2 is helmed once again by director Tomoyuki Itamura, with Michiko Yokote returning for series composition, and character designs by Haruka Sagawa. Animation production is handled by Liden Films. The voice cast includes Sora Amamiya as Nazuna, Gen Sato as Ko, Yumiri Hanamori as Akira, Haruka Tomatsu as Seri, Eri Kitamura as Niko, Shizuka Ito as Kabura, and Naomi Ozora as Midori.
With romance, mystery, and existential vampire dread all ramping up, Season 2 promises to dive deeper into Nazuna’s mysterious past, Anko’s vendetta against vampires, and the emotional entanglements that come with love after dark.
