Get your first glimpse of a bearded Jackman in his final cinematic outing as Wolverine.
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he site JustJared recently dropped the first photos of Hugh Jackman on the set of the highly anticipated Wolverine 3. Jackman appears to be sporting a big bushy beard any face fuzz connoisseur would be proud of. Check them out below:
Wolverine 3 – which will be an R-rated release – is said to be Jackman’s last outing as Logan. Whilst the plot of the film is being kept tightly under wraps, the word on the movie grapevine is that the film will follow ‘Old Man Logan,’ a storyline from 2008-2009’s run of Wolverine by Kingsman writer, Mark Miller.
Some have drawn attention to the spattering of salt and pepper shades we can see in Jackman’s beard in the recent set photos, which shows an aged look to support the theory of an ‘Old Man Logan’ story. He certainly looks the part, and for Jackman’s last flick as Wolverine it would be a good way to end Logan’s cinematic journey.
The Wolverine director James Mangold is returning to direct the sequel, which (according to Comicbook.com) has a massive budget in the range of $127 million.
So far the only fellow cast members we know of are Patrick Stewart who will be returning as Professor X, and Richard E. Grant who’s said to be playing a villain role. Stephen Merchant, Elise Neal, Eriq La Salle and Boyd Holbrook are also in the billing, but nothing has been confirmed so far in regards to what roles the cast will be playing. Hopefully we’ll have more to go on very soon.
Regardless of if we’ll be seeing ‘Old Man Logan’ (which does seem pretty likely), it looks like Jackman’s going to get quite the send-off in his final outing donning Wolverine’s signature adamantium claws, and we can’t wait to see it.
The as yet Untitled Wolverine Sequel is slated for release 2 March, 2017.
