Do you think they’ll give him a CGI white beard?
Everyone’s favorite fist-reloading, mustachioed Man of Steel is set to become everyone’s favorite monster hunter for hire.
Variety confirmed that Henry Cavill is set to portray Geralt of Rivia for the live-action Witcher series on Netflix.
Cavill himself also confirmed the news via a cheeky post on his Instagram.
Geralt of Rivia is the titular character in The Witcher book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, as well as the popular video game series of the same name developed by CD Projekt Red. As a Witcher, Geralt has undergone merciless training to become a masterful warrior and hunter. Both The Witcher books and game series follow Geralt’s adventures as he takes on quests and endeavors for rewards, and romancing a handful of ladies along the way.

Henry Cavill is best known for his role as Superman in the DC Extended Universe, starring in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Justice League (“spoilers!”). He is also known for his role in the action flick The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and as the infamously moustached villain of Mission Impossible: Fallout.
Never Forget.
In May 2017 it was first announced that Netflix was working on a Witcher series for its platform, with the original author set to be a creative consultant on the project. This is the first big announcement regarding the series since it was revealed to be happening.
…
We tend to goof on Cavill now and then for his wooden portrayal of Clark Kent, but we’re pretty excited to see him get this role. After all, he is a huge fan of the series and even said he’d love to play Geralt in an interview with IGN last month. We really hope this series comes together as more details emerge.
And I really want to see Geralt reload his fists. I will pay good money to see Geralt reload his fists.
