[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap] very happy New Year indeed.

For those that purchased November’s Halo: The Master Chief Collection, the multiplayer beta for Halo 5: Guardians on the Xbox One is well underway.

The beta was made available yesterday afternoon, and so far general reaction has been positive. While the multiplayer beta arrived two days later than expected, Microsoft has made good by extending access to the beta an extra day until January 18.

Microsoft released an overview in August that highlights some of the beta’s key features. It includes 4v4 Arena play across seven maps and three different game types, which is said to only represent a “small portion” of the final product. Check out the video below!

The final product for Halo 5: Guardians will be released Fall 2015 for Xbox One.
