In a recent interview at Comic Con, Halle Berry claims she would do a ‘Storm’ spinoff film “in a heartbeat”.

Halle Berry is a well-known guest of Comic Con with her performances in Gothika and her role as Storm in the X-Men franchise. She is an Oscar winner and the only African American woman to win the Academy Award for Best Actress making her presence at Comic Con quite special. Going into Season 2 of the CBS show, Extant, Berry came back to Comic Con after a two-year hiatus for a panel regarding the upcoming season of the sci-fi TV show. She spoke with reporters about the new TV show as well as her opinions on an X-men movie based solely around the Storm character.

Berry talked with a reporter from Deadline about the progression of women as lead roles in movies as positive and that women, especially those of color, should continue to take on lead roles in films. When asked about doing a movie similar to the Wolverine films except based on Storm, Berry answered, “In a heartbeat. In a heartbeat I would do a Storm movie. I love that character through and through. So if that ever became an opportunity for me if it’s before I’m 65-years old I would absolutely do that.”

While no word of a Storm film has ever been mentioned, it will be interesting to see if Fox gains any motivation after the interview with Berry. Let us know in the comments what you think about a solo film based on Storm!
