Everyone freeze! One of the most famous villains from Batman is coming to Gotham.
[dropcap size=small]H[/dropcap]e was Frank Underwood’s lover and long time bodyguard in House of Cards and now he will be joining the Gotham universe to play the role of Mr. Freeze himself. Nathan Darrow has landed the recurring role Victor Fries, a cryogenics engineer with a sad and tragic story who will do whatever he can to save his wife, and no one will stop him.
“The first time we see Freeze is in [the Nov. 30 episode],” explained Gotham EP John Stephens in an interview with TVLine. “And then we’re going to be telling a heavy Freeze story in Episodes 12 and 13.”
Mr. Freeze/Victor Fries’ character description is as follows: Though ferociously smart and eminently capable in his work as one of Gotham’s preeminent cryogenics engineers, Victor struggles to make meaningful connections with others. The one exception is his wife, Nora (no announcement for the role as been made yet), who has tragically fallen ill with a terminal disease. Victor’s love for Nora knows no bounds, so as her condition worsens, he goes to extreme measures to figure out a way to freeze her before she dies. This harrowing journey leads to his transformation into the legendary DC villain, Mr. Freeze.
