Each week, we plan on giving spotlight to one of our fellow geeks, giving them a chance to show off their most prized collections and their, well… geekiness!
[dropcap size=small]M[/dropcap]eet our newest Geek of the Week, Kyle Wiemer! Kyle is 25 years old, he is a sales associate at a power equipment store, and he collects a lot of geek-related merchandise. And when I say a lot of geek related merchandise, I mean a lot of geek-relate merchandise. He currently owns over 300 video games not just for his Nintendo Wii, but his Xbox One and everything in between.
As you can see from the photos above there are only a few select video games. This is because the majority of the video games that Kyle owns are currently residing at his parents house because he couldn’t fit them all in the apartment that he shares with his friends. When asked what his favorite video game is, Kyle said that the Mass Effect trilogy would have to be his favorite. To be fair, you can’t get more bad-ass than saving not only humanity, but every single living thing in the galaxy from total annihilation so you can’t go wrong with his choice.
Out of everything that Kyle has collected in the past several years he admits that his most prized possession would be his sonic screwdriver television remote based off of the incredibly popular British television show Doctor Who or his Master Chief Helmet. Speaking of Doctor Who, the show is also Kyle’s favorite and he owns every single episode since the show’s revival in 2005.
But Kyle’s passion for everything geek-related doesn’t end with just Mass Effect and Doctor Who, he is also a huge fan of comic books and I was surprised by just how much he knew about Batman’s villains, whom he claims are better than the masked vigilante himself, and his knowledge of the Marvel Universe. His favorite superhero is Spider-man and Kyle said that he first started getting involved with superheroes when he met his step brother at the age of eight. It was Kyle’s step brother who set Kyle on the road towards geek-hood and he hasn’t looked back ever since. Why would he? Being a geek, in the words of actor Simon Pegg, is all about “being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection.”
