“GamerVerse” Spider-Man SH Figuarts Figure Goes Up for Pre-Order Tomorrow

Spider-Man is clearly where Bandai went, “What if we gave him every single joint known to mankind?”

Picture this: You’re sitting at your desk, minding your own business, when Bandai decides to casually drop the GamerVerse Spider-Man S.H. Figuarts figure announcement like a nuclear bomb made entirely of tiny, poseable joints. Coming hot on the heels of their recently released GamerVerse Cyclops, Spider-Man is swinging into pre-orders this Wednesday, August 27th (or 28th in Japan), and then the following day in other regions (so Thursday, the 28th in the US).

While Cyclops set the tone with his Marvel vs. Capcom–inspired design, Spider-Man is clearly where Bandai went, “What if we gave him every single joint known to mankind?” The figure stands 155mm tall (that’s just over 6 inches of pure articulated bliss) and has a shocking amount of mobility packed into his PVC-and-ABS skeleton. Every limb, every twist, every mid-air flip pose—you can recreate all the ridiculous acrobatics you remember from the game without worrying he’ll snap like your childhood action figures from the dollar bin. Seriously, Spider-Man can swing, crouch, kick, web-yank, and “I’m-about-to-make-a-bad-joke” pose without breaking a sweat.

Speaking of webs, this set is loaded. You’re getting two different spider webs: a classic swinging strand and a defensive web shield for when Spidey needs to protect his beautiful sculpted face. It even includes a Spider-Sense effect sheet that mounts behind his head, meaning you can finally make it look like Peter Parker knows when you’re about to spend another $300 on collectibles instead of paying rent. To recreate the insane mid-air lunges you’ve seen in promo shots, you’ll need the separately sold TAMASHII STAGE ACT HUMANOID, because of course Bandai wants to remind you that plastic addiction isn’t cheap.

Inside the box, you’re getting:

  • The main Spider-Man figure
  • Four pairs of interchangeable hands (for thwipping, gripping, and awkward waving)
  • An interchangeable head part for different expressions
  • Swinging web and defensive web accessories
  • Adapter parts for the Spider-Sense effect
  • The Spider-Sense effect sheet itself
  • And a Special Move effect card so you can basically recreate entire cutscenes

No U.S. price has been revealed yet, but Japanese retailers are listing it at 9,900 yen—about $67 USD today—though let’s be real, by the time it hits U.S. shelves, we’ll probably be looking at something closer to the $90–$100 range after taxes, fees, and the obligatory “premium collector” markup.

Bottom line: This is the Spider-Man figure your inner gamer’s been waiting for. With insane articulation, game-accurate effects, and all the accessories you need to recreate iconic poses, Bandai is basically daring us not to buy it. Spoiler alert: we’re going to fail that dare spectacularly.
