We know Marvel loves to sneak in Easter eggs in its MCU flicks but a deleted (or more accurately, hidden) scene from Deadpool & Wolverine featuring Channing Tatum’s Gambit, a character who almost had his own film but never made it past the starting line, has been released, revealing the character’s fate at the end of the battle with Cassandra’s villainous henchmen.
Shared by none other than Deadpool himself, actor Ryan Reynolds posted the scene which shows Gambit walking away unscathed. But that is not all. Take a look at the scene shared by Reynolds and pay close attention to Gambit’s eyes.

Along with the clip, Reynolds post includes some text that reads “*whispers* Marvel Sparkle Circle” which can clearly be seen in the reflection of Gambit’s eyes, suggesting someone is using magic to pull the character out of the void, likely with a mystical Sling Ring.
But that begs the question- who is saving Gambit, and where to? We have to assume all the fan support actor Channing Tatum has received pretty much guarantees we will see him and the character again in the future, something Reynolds and director Shawn Levy saw coming, since this scene was shot. But why was this scene kept out of the film then? Well, it turns out, this scene actually is in the movie.
Apparently, if you squint at one of the TVA monitors in the background at one point in the film, this scene is shown, something many fans, us included, no doubt missed. That said, no one expected this iteration of Gambit to ever be brought to life, and for such a significant role in D&W, and then actually survive the vents of the movie (RIP Johnny Storm). And now we not only know the character survived but that he could very well return in Secret Wars or some other Deadpool spinoff or sequel. And if Gambit survived, maybe Elektra and Blade did as well?
Fans may remember that originally, Tatum was supposed to star in a Gambit solo movie, but that dream fizzled out when Disney swooped in and acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019. Even though his standalone adventure never saw the light of day everyone was ecstatic to see the character finally brought to life, perhaps none more so than Tatum himself. And he nailed it, too.
Perhaps, if we’re lucky enough to get another Deadpool movie, maybe we’ll find out more about where Gambit has gone after leaving the Void, or perhaps Gambit will make a grand return in an MCU team-up. One thing’s for sure: the Ragin’ Cajun seems far from finished, and we might just see him back in action sooner than we think! Keep those eyes peeled, Marvel fans—anything can happen in this universe!
