Mad Max: Fury Road’s most popular character might not make an appearance in the sequel.
[dropcap size=small]D[/dropcap]irector George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road was such a superb movie that 493 members of the International Federation of Film Critics voted the film to be the Best Movie of the Year. However, as we all know, it really was Charlize Theron’s role as Furiosa in the film that really made the movie so great. That being said, why isn’t the kick-ass heroine appearing in the sequel(s)?
“I’m not sure, is the answer,” answered director George Miller in an interview. “She’s not in the Mad Max [sequel] story, but in one of the stories there’s an interaction between [Max and Furiosa]. I can’t really say more than that because it’s still in progress.”
Okay then, that leaves us with more questions than answers, thanks George. Furiosa was such an incredible character, who wouldn’t want to have her in a sequel? At least we know that the previously mentioned sequel is going to be called Mad Max: Wasteland.
“That name came out, that was just a working title,” he said. “Nico Lathouris and I wrote deep backstories on all the characters and they eventually became screenplays – so we have two [more movies]. I’m happy to say that there’s discussions about them right now, but I hope the next film I make is a very small without any special effects and not many stunts.”
Nevermind, nothing is final at all when it comes to news regarding Charlize Theron’s Furiosa character or the title to the sequel of Mad Max: Fury Road. Right now we can only hope that we get to see another strong and bad-ass Imperator Furiosa have a lead role in the upcoming sequel(s) to Mad Max: Fury Road.
