From CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger, Netflix Anime Series ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’ Looks Radical

Welcome to Night City, where chrome exceeds the flesh.

We know, Cyberpunk 2077 was a huge letdown and CD Projekt Red took advantage of their customers- we agree wholeheartedly. However, as CDPR works hard to mend their image and re-establish trust with fans, their latest animated project Cyberpunk: Edgerunners looks incredible, thanks to Studio Trigger.

But first, the trailer:

I have made it no secret that I despise CDPR for all that they have done since 2077’s disastrous launch but when I heard they somehow managed to coax Trigger into working on an anime series for Netflix, I perked right up.

The series tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in Night City — a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he stays alive by becoming an edgerunner — a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.

Without Trigger, we would have ignored this series completely but since their animation remains among the best in the business, we may just dedicate a day to binge all ten episodes when they release exclusively on Netflix, this September.
