Safe to say Disney is now “swimming” in cash.
[dropcap size=small]O[/dropcap]ver the past weekend the Disney Pixar film Finding Dory grossed over $136.2 million at the US box office, making it the highest grossing opening weekend for an animated movie in US box office history.
Finding Dory unseated Shrek The Third for the top seat on the animated movie list. Finding Dory also had the second biggest opening this year only behind a little movie you may have seen called Captain America: Civil War.
In addition to having the highest grossing animated movie opening, Finding Dory also had the biggest opening for a Pixar movie. Toy Story 3 had been first until now.
For those who do not know, Finding Dory is the sequel to the Pixar hit movie Finding Nemo. The plot revolved around Dory trying to find her way back to her family, that she just remembered she had.
