J.K. Rowling once again proves she’s just as magical as her wizarding world.
[dropcap size=small]J[/dropcap].K. Rowling has certainly been busy lately. Not only is she treating Potter fans to an 8th instalment of Harry Potter’s adventures in the stage play, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, she’s also giving us a brand new wizarding adventure this November with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
And if Rowling isn’t continually updating Pottermore with more delightful entries, she’s apparently already working away on future scripts and screenplays. David Yates – who directed four Harry Potter films and is now directing Fantastic Beasts – revealed that Rowling has already written the second Fantastic Beasts movie.
Yates was promoting his latest film, The Legend of Tarzan, when he told GSNews (via Cinemablend) Rowling had finished writing the sequel, with thoughts already set on the third:
“We’ve done the first one, she’s written the second one, she’s got ideas for the third one. No one quite has ownership of them quite yet, in terms of having a relationship with the material, other than the relationship they’ll have with the movie when it comes out.”
Fantastic Beasts is set to be a trilogy, and it looks as though the second movie may be getting into gear and coming out sooner than we think.
The first Newt Scamander adventure will be Rowling’s screenplay debut, and as such, Rowling is going to release it in book form sometime in the future, along with the stage play.
Oh, Rowling. You do spoil us.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is due for release 18 November, 2016.
